About
The idea for this site struck me whilst scrabbling around the internet trying to gather UK-specific news related to Apple, whether it be Mac, iPhone, iTunes, iPod or i-anything else for that matter. Although there are some decent sites out there, I figured there might just be room for one more - so here we are, hoping to pull together the news, reviews and discussion around Apple that’s really relevant to folks here in the UK.

Currently it’s just me working on TWA, although depending on how things go I may well need some help - maybe drop me an email if you’re interested and I’ll get in touch.
I’ve been using Macs only since the late nineties, when I went to university. I can well remember the look of pride on my video production lecturer’s face as a brand new suite of 10 G3 towers was unveiled to us first-years, and learning the basics of non-linear video editing on Adobe Premiere of all things. Then it was iMacs in the web development classes, and again in my first ‘proper’ job working for an indie TV company.
Prior to that my computing history (all geeks love to talk about this stuff) probably started with an Acorn Electron, followed by an Atari STe 512k. A few dodgy PCs later and the first Mac I owned was a G4 eMac, and have since plowed my way through a handful of iBooks and PowerBooks courtesy of eBay, before ending up with the G5 iMac and MacBook Pro I now use. I was also completely suckered in by Apple’s marketing strategy and bought an iPod Touch (convincing myself I didn’t need the phone functionality), before succumbing within a week of the iPhone’s UK launch and buying one of those too (anyone want an 8Gb iPod Touch??!!).
Outside of Apple stuff my day job is working for one of the UK’s nine Regional Screen Agencies, supporting new and emerging film and programme making talent to make it into the screen industries, with an ever-increasing focus on the role of digital technology and media to facilitate both those ‘traditional’ industries, and also the blossoming world of digital media. I’m particularly interested in how stories are told using digital media, either standalone or integrated with more traditional delivery - this whole sentence is basically here to allow me to mention my other great fanaticism, which is for the awesome TV show Lost.
