The KRCS in Birmingham was pretty much totalled when the Apple Retail Store opened in the next-door Bullring. Shame to watch the Starbucks-effect in action - can't comment on the Leicester store but never had a problem with the Brum one - can remember going in and ooh-ing at the then-brand-new G5 iMac...

Good, can only be better than the current store, KRCS. i wanted a case for my iPhone and whilst looking at their display I was told NOT TO OPEN the package, as they would have to re-pack it. How could I tell if the iPhone case was what I wanted. Would you buy a car without opening the door??

Good point(s) Stephen - I must admit despite reservations I do enjoy the simple, clean interfaces for the web apps and yes, a bit of me feels more comfortable knowing my data isn't anywhere near my morning cup of coffee...

I think the one downfall of having a hard drive is if the unthinkable happens and a break in and its stolen or other act that leaves computer and hard drive unusable. I do think off site file storage is a good idea, but maybe some server space somewhere is a better still?

I like mobile me even with all its faults (which I think will get sorted). The cloud is where its at, and this is apples first attempt lets not expect the earth in a day, it has some space to evolve yet
